Prince Harry bags ‘pathetic’ title as he follows in Meghan Markle’s footsteps, says Royal commentator
Prince Harry has faced criticism for what some have called a “shallow” attempt to upstage Prince William and Kate Middleton’s son, Prince George, on his 11th birthday.
The Duke of Sussex announced that the Invictus Games would return to the UK 13 years after their inaugural event in 2014. This announcement coincided with Prince George’s birthday, leading to accusations that Harry was deliberately trying to overshadow the young prince’s special day.
Royal experts claimed that Harry’s announcement mirrored Meghan Markle’s alleged pattern of timing news to coincide with significant royal events. Royal commentator Dan Wootton labeled the move as “pathetic,” criticizing Harry on his Outspoken program. Wootton stated, “Prince Harry upstaged young Prince George’s lovely birthday release of those pictures by Catherine Middleton by announcing on the same day that the Invictus Games are going to be held in Birmingham in 2027.”
Wootton continued, “It does just show you how pathetic Prince Harry is. He knew it was George’s birthday, he knew the picture was going to be released. He wants to steal the thunder with his Invictus Games announcement. It’s just pathetic gameplaying yet again.”
Royal commentator Angela Levin agreed with Wootton’s remarks, suggesting that Meghan Markle has a history of similar actions. “It’s such a shame. I think Meghan likes to do that, we’ve seen that so many times,” Levin said. “Every time the Royal Family does something, she has to do something just before and it’s all carefully controlled. I’ve been told many times she knows exactly what she’s doing, it’s not a mistake, she’s very cautious. And Harry, I suppose, was told this is what he had to do.”
These accusations highlight ongoing tensions and perceived rivalries within the royal family, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle often at the center of controversies regarding their public actions and timing. As Prince George’s birthday was celebrated with new photos released by his mother, Kate Middleton, the coinciding Invictus Games announcement has sparked a debate about intent and respect within the royal family dynamics.
