Meghan Markle’s ’emotional message’ over question about engagement ring, says body language expert
Meghan Markle’s engagement ring from Prince Harry has come under scrutiny, with new insights suggesting she might not have been entirely fond of the piece.
The Duchess of Sussex, who married Prince Harry in 2018, discussed her engagement during an interview with Mishal Husain on BBC. However, body language expert Judi James has analyzed Meghan’s gestures, indicating she may not have had a strong liking for her ring.
Speaking to Express, James explained, “When the interviewer asks, ‘Tell us about your ring,’ Meghan looks down with a smile but then looks up at Harry to deflect the question to him. This is despite the fact that it seems to have been asked of her.”
James further observed, “Her ring hand is placed on top of their handclasp. This is so that the ring is visible but without being totally displayed. It’s Harry who picks her ring finger up to show it as he describes what it is made from like a QVC salesman.”
According to James, Meghan’s body language suggests that the emotional significance of the ring affected her more than the ring itself. “Meghan’s body language response suggests it’s the emotional message that clearly affects and moves her more than the ring itself. This is because she re-activates and looks up at the interviewer when Harry tells her that there are diamonds from his mother’s collection there.”
This analysis sheds light on Meghan’s true feelings about her engagement ring, which was designed by Harry and features diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection. While the emotional value clearly resonates with Meghan, her initial reaction to the ring seems more subdued.
The Duchess’s body language during the interview highlights a deeper emotional connection to the ring’s symbolism rather than its physical appearance. This insight offers a unique perspective on the significance of royal jewelry and the personal sentiments behind such treasured pieces.
