Meghan Markle gets emotional as she returns to work in London via video link
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was visibly moved during a video link appearance in London, where she participated in the inauguration of a new section at an animal charity, named in tribute to her departed friend Oli Juste. This significant event was communicated through the website recently launched by Meghan and Prince Harry.
During the virtual event, Meghan’s emotions surfaced as she paid homage to Oli, reflecting on their shared moments and mutual dedication to animal welfare. The charity, Mayhew Animal Home, unveiled its latest expansion in London, aiming to enhance the facility with specialized areas designed for enrichment, training, and therapy activities for animals, reported Daily Mail.
“The Wing, named in honor of Oli Juste, will provide greater care for dogs in need, and was dedicated in memory of the renowned dog trainer and animal behaviorist by his friend Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.”
Oli Juste, who had a profound impact on Meghan, was the one who introduced her to Mayhew back in 2019. Following this introduction, Meghan embraced the role of Royal Patron for the organization, committing to a three-year term. Her bond with Oli was strengthened by their common passion for animal welfare and their love for rescue dogs, marking a significant aspect of their friendship.
Aligned with Oli’s lifelong dedication to animal care, Mayhew’s objectives resonated with both him and Meghan. The unfortunate passing of Oli in January 2022 deeply affected Meghan, prompting her to honor his memory. In a heartfelt gesture, the Duchess, through the Archewell Foundation, contributed to Mayhew in remembrance of Oli, aiming to perpetuate his legacy and uphold the values they both cherished.
It further said, “The Oli Juste Wing is a testament to his unwavering love and commitment to our furry friends and will improve the lives of countless animals, reminding us all of the power of compassion, connection, and care.”
