‘Borderline trashy!’ US Commentators Cruelly Mock Harry and Meghan’s Donation to Christmas Procession
Commentators in the United States were left in stitches as they cruelly mocked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s donation to a Christmas procession.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle contributed to the inaugural Montecito Holiday Car Parade in their new neighborhood. Looking through the photos of the vehicle parade, American podcaster Roberta Fiorito and colleague Rached Bowie were left in stitches, with Fiorito remarking that it was “borderline trashy” while praising the outfits paraded at the event.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have donated to numerous organizations over the holidays in addition to the parade.
The Royally Obsessed host stated: “Harry and Meghan donated to their first annual Montecito holiday car parade.
“This is super random, and we are scratching our heads at what just happened. Obviously, they were the first ones to decorate it.”
“To donate, they were the first ones to donate. Were they asked first, we should have a car parade? How did this happen?”
Ms. Bowie replied: “In their defense, it looks like they were just trying to find an outdoor way to find merriment in the town.
“And they probably wanted to participate as new neighbors to the area.
“So it was nice, I just think some of the pictures of some of the pictures of the participants were little out there but looked festive and fun.”
Ms. Fiorito quipped: “It’s like Real Housewives Christmas, it’s borderline trashy, just gonna say.
“Some people have a different idea of what Christmas is but it’s fine, it’s very amusing. I scoured the pictures like if there are glimpses of them even in masks or sunglasses somewhere in there, do not think they were there unless they were inside the car.”
As per Express, the parade saw the cars decorated with garlands, wreaths, toys, sleighs, Santa’s mailbox, pets, tinsel, and holiday music. Jack Overall costumed as Santa Claus and riding in an antique fire engine built by Newquist, distributed candy from a truck.
The announcements of the parade read: “Thanks to the many parade sponsors including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who were first to donate.”
Royal author Omid Scobie stated on Twitter: “Local residents Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan donated towards the first-ever #MontecitoCarParade this week.
“Kids from the neighborhood lined the streets on Mon to cheer on festively decorated cars.
It’s hoped that the event becomes an annual attraction.”
The local paper wrote: “As the merriment still lingers in the air, here’s to a new Montecito holiday tradition! “Thanks to the many parade sponsors including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who were first to donate”.
