“This is just getting crazier and crazier” Trump Suggests Obama Secretly Running the US at South Carolina Rally
During a recent campaign event in Conway, South Carolina, Donald Trump stirred the political waters by suggesting that Barack Obama, the former President, is secretly orchestrating the operations of the United States government. This statement was made at a rally where Trump, the leading Republican candidate at 77 years of age, addressed a crowd of his supporters on Saturday, February 10.
According to Mediaite, In his speech, Trump not only questioned President Joe Biden’s mental fitness to govern, pointing out Biden’s occasional difficulties with public appearances but also insinuated that Obama, Biden’s predecessor and former boss, might be the puppet master behind the current administration.
Trump’s remarks came as he gears up for the South Carolina primary on February 24, eyeing a third consecutive nomination for the presidency by the Republican Party. His speech was peppered with his characteristic flair for controversy and spectacle, particularly when he deliberately emphasized Obama’s middle name “Hussein,” to the amusement of his audience.
Trump said, “I don’t think he knows what the hell he’s doing anyways. I always say by the people who surround him or sometimes I’ll interchange, I’ll say, Barack Hussein Obama. But every time I say that the fake news. Oh, that’s a lot of fake news back there…Every time I say it. Anytime I want to have a little fun, governor. We have fun.”
One remarked, “Wait what? How?” and another added, “At what point can he be repeatedly sued for libel and slander? Bc this is just getting crazier and crazier.”
This tactic, reminiscent of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh’s style, seemed aimed at stirring up his base by invoking Obama’s full name in a manner some perceive as loaded with insinuation. Trump light-heartedly commented on the need to find humor in the political discourse, despite his grave concerns about the direction in which he believes the country is headed. He reiterated his suspicion that Obama plays a significant role in the current administration, a theory he suggested should not be dismissed lightly.
The former President’s assertions come at a time when his political allies are leveraging a report by special counsel Robert Hur to cast doubts on Biden’s capability for re-election. Hur’s investigation into Biden’s management of classified documents led to a report describing Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory,” citing instances of unclear recollections about his vice-presidential tenure and the passing of his son Beau.
The provocative claim by Trump that Obama is covertly involved in Biden’s presidency has ignited a flurry of reactions online, ranging from disbelief to concern over the implications of such allegations. Critics have questioned the basis of Trump’s theory, with some calling for legal action against what they see as defamatory statements. Others have urged for evidence to back such significant claims, emphasizing the need for responsible discourse in political debates to avoid baseless conjecture.
An individual opined, “This country would be much better off if Obama were running it.”
