Trump Claims Democrats Plan to Cheat in Pennsylvania, Calls for GOP Action
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump raised alarms on Sunday, alleging that Democrats were planning to cheat in the upcoming Pennsylvania election. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump cited an interview by right-wing influencer Tucker Carlson, claiming it revealed widespread fraud in the state’s absentee voting process.
“An interview by Tucker Carlson of an election expert indicates that 20% of the Mail-In Ballots in Pennsylvania are fraudulent,” Trump wrote, though he provided no evidence to support the claim.
The former president expressed frustration with law enforcement and the Republican Party in the state. “Here we go again! Where is the U.S. Attorney General and FBI to INVESTIGATE? Where is the Pennsylvania Republican Party?” he asked, urging action to prevent what he described as Democratic attempts to cheat.
Trump, who has previously made similar claims about election fraud without substantiating evidence, insisted that he would win Pennsylvania “unless the Dems are allowed to CHEAT.” He called on the Republican National Committee to take immediate action, stating, “THE RNC MUST ACTIVATE, NOW!!!”
Legal experts, however, have been preparing for potential legal battles over mail-in voting in the key battleground state. Witold J. Walczak, legal director of the ACLU of Pennsylvania, has predicted a flood of lawsuits related to absentee ballots. “I’m expecting a repeat of 2020 this year — different but also likely even more intense,” Walczak told Spotlight PA.
As the election approaches, tensions are rising, with both sides preparing for what could be another contentious battle over the legitimacy of mail-in voting in Pennsylvania.
