“We’ll Be Looking at Them, Deep and Hard”: Alina Habba Hints at Role in Trump’s Potential Second Term
Attorney Alina Habba made waves during a Turning Point Action conference by suggesting that if Donald Trump secures another term as president, she could play a pivotal role in pursuing his adversaries. Speaking to the crowd, Habba delivered a pointed message, saying, “Well, they’ve got one year, and then we’re going to be looking at them, deep and hard,” implying a determined approach to holding political opponents accountable.
A Relentless Pursuit
Habba’s comments were made at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona, where she defended Trump’s handling of classified documents and attacked President Joe Biden over similar allegations. Highlighting what she perceived as a double standard, Habba claimed, “Because he [Biden] wasn’t president when he took his boxes in six different locations, as per Raw Story.
In Chinatown. In his car next to his son, who’s doing God knows what with God knows who.” She didn’t shy away from hinting at her future ambitions in a Trump administration, stating, “I’ll tell you right now, if I’m in Washington, I’ll be relentless, too.” The crowd responded with cheers, reinforcing her position as a staunch ally of the former president.
Trump’s Legal Challenges
Habba’s comments came as Trump faced mounting legal battles, including four criminal indictments across various jurisdictions. Among these was a case concerning classified documents allegedly taken to Mar-a-Lago after Trump left office. Although Judge Eileen Cannon dismissed the case in 2024, ruling that Special Counsel Jack Smith’s appointment was unconstitutional, Smith’s office has appealed the decision, as per Mediaite.
Habba’s strong rhetoric also aligns with Trump’s ongoing narrative of political persecution, framing his legal challenges as distractions orchestrated by opponents to deflect scrutiny from their own actions.
Lawsuit Against Trump’s Business
While defending Trump publicly, Habba has faced legal troubles involving Trump’s businesses. A lawsuit filed by Alice Bianco, a former employee of Trump National Golf Club, alleged sexual harassment and coercion into signing an illegal non-disclosure agreement. Bianco claimed she was pressured into sexual acts by a supervisor and manipulated by Habba, who allegedly urged her to drop her employment lawyer and sign an NDA.
The allegations have cast a shadow over Habba’s legal career, painting a picture of aggressive tactics both inside and outside the courtroom. As Trump’s attorney, Habba’s assertive stance and high-profile defense of the former president place her as a potential power player in a second Trump administration, promising a contentious and combative approach to governance, according to CNN.
