Omega Unveils Striking ‘Daniel Craig’ Edition of Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional with Bold White Dial
Omega has recently introduced a captivating addition to its esteemed collection, the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial, affectionately known as the “Daniel Craig” edition. This launch follows a series of teasers and leaks, including a notable sighting on Daniel Craig’s wrist last year, sparking anticipation and speculation among enthusiasts and collectors.
Remaining true to the classic specifications of its predecessors, the watch features a 42 mm x 13.2 mm stainless steel case with a lug-to-lug measurement of 47.5 mm and a weight of 140 grams when equipped with the bracelet. Catering to modern demands, it boasts a 50-meter water resistance and is exclusively offered with a sapphire crystal, departing from the traditional Hesalite option.
At its core, the watch is powered by the Omega caliber 3861, a manual wind METAS-certified Master Chronometer. This movement, equipped with Omega’s proprietary Co-Axial escapement and a free-sprung balance wheel with a silicon spring, ensures resistance against magnetic fields up to 15,000 gausses. Operating at 3Hz, the caliber 3861 offers a power reserve of 50 hours. The chronograph mechanism, visible through the sapphire caseback, showcases a cam-operated system with a horizontal clutch, presented with a rhodium-plated finish and Geneva stripes on its bridges.
Drawing inspiration from astronaut suits and the iconic ALASKA I prototype from 1969, the dial departs from the common black dials seen in the standard collection. The bright white lacquer finish and contrasting black details create a sophisticated Panda-style aesthetic. The red “Speedmaster” inscription complements the red tip on the chronograph seconds hand and the matte black treatment of the hands and indices, paying homage to its storied heritage and introducing a fresh visual identity to the collection.
While historically, white dial Moonwatches have been rare, this new model joins the permanent collection, offering a unique and readily available choice for aficionados. The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial “Daniel Craig” comes with a stainless steel bracelet, and Omega also provides options for a black anti-bacterial rubber strap or a black perforated racing leather strap with contrast stitching, catering to varied tastes and preferences.
With its release, Omega not only enriches its iconic Speedmaster collection but also nods to the adventurous spirit embodied by the brand’s association with space exploration. Priced at EUR 9,000 for the steel bracelet version and EUR 8,600 for the strap variants, this model is poised to captivate enthusiasts and collectors, promising to be a cherished addition to any collection.
