Snoop Dogg’s daughter dashed to hospital following ‘severe’ stroke
Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, recently experienced a significant health scare when she suffered a severe stroke. The 24-year-old shared this distressing news with her 650,000 social media followers, revealing her shock and fear in a heartfelt post from her hospital bed. Accompanying her update was a picture of her in the hospital, giving a stark visual of her ordeal.
Cori, the youngest child of the 49-year-old rap icon Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shanté, has not yet heard a public statement from her father regarding this sudden medical emergency. In her social media update, Cori expressed her disbelief and sorrow, questioning, “Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”
Although she did not elaborate on the immediate causes of her stroke, Cori’s medical history includes a battle with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease. Diagnosed at just six years old, Cori has faced the challenges of lupus, which can cause widespread inflammation affecting various body systems. The Mayo Clinic notes that lupus can impact joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs, and importantly, it can heighten the risk of experiencing a stroke.
In a September interview last year, Cori spoke candidly about her struggle with lupus to PEOPLE magazine. She shared that she was feeling better than ever, having embarked on a natural treatment path. “I stopped taking all of my medication about five months ago,” she revealed, opting instead for natural remedies such as herbs, sea moss, teas, and increased water intake, coupled with regular exercise.
This shift to a natural regimen marked a significant change for Cori, who had relied on medication since childhood, at times taking up to 12 pills daily. The change was a conscious decision to improve her health and reduce her dependence on prescription drugs.
However, despite her proactive approach to managing lupus, Cori acknowledged ongoing challenges, including joint pain. She was determined, though, and her health-focused lifestyle helped alleviate some of her discomfort. But she admitted to still struggling with unhealthy eating habits and inadequate rest, aspects she aimed to improve.
Cori’s health journey has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, including a suicide attempt in 2021, which she bravely shared. This recent stroke adds another layer of complexity to her battle with lupus. Through her candid sharing, Cori highlights the unpredictable nature of chronic illnesses and the continuous effort required to manage them. Her story serves as a reminder of the importance of perseverance and the ongoing process of seeking better health, one day at a time.
