After months of legal chaos and firing multiple attorneys, Kanye West has finally addressed his mounting legal troubles by hiring new representation. According to The U.S. Sun, West—known for his hit “Power”—had largely ignored his ongoing lawsuits, skipping depositions and reportedly taking a carefree approach to his legal obligations.

His indifference left him without representation, adding to the complications of his legal battles. The lawsuits against the rapper span serious allegations, including accusations of sexual misconduct from former employees and disputes over failed business partnerships.

Last month, the situation escalated when a judge threatened a default judgment in favor of a former Donda Academy employee due to West’s failure to secure legal representation.

At the time, West’s then-attorney, Manoj Shah—who does not specialize in civil litigation—pleaded for an extension on his client’s behalf. “We are trying in vain to retain counsel,” Shah told Judge Christopher Lui. “We are interviewing several firms.

For one reason or another, it has failed to work out. Our goal is to have counsel and participate in the defense.” West’s ongoing struggle to secure consistent legal counsel reportedly stems from his repeated decisions to fire lawyers, with allegations that he also withheld payment for their services.

While details about his newly hired legal team remain unclear, the move signals West’s attempt to get his spiraling legal issues under control. The lawsuits, which continue to pile up, have placed significant pressure on the rapper-turned-entrepreneur as he grapples with both personal and professional setbacks.

West’s legal troubles highlight a dramatic shift for the Grammy-winning artist, who once dominated the music and fashion industries but now faces allegations and failed partnerships that threaten his reputation.

For now, Kanye West appears to be taking steps to reengage with his defense, potentially avoiding further consequences like default judgments. Whether this marks a turning point for West remains to be seen, but hiring legal representation may help him regain some control in a saga that has cast a shadow over his career.
