Cher opens up about specific age she would like to live: Deets inside
Iconic singer, Cher, recently opened up about the age she’d like to live to, commenting she’s “already past my sell-by date.” The 77-year-old singer, during an interview with The LA Times, was questioned if she aspires to reach 96, her mother’s age at passing. Candidly, Cher responded, “No, I’m thinking about 80.”
Cher, who clinched an Oscar for her role in Moonstruck, added, “I don’t want to not be me.” Discussing future tours, Cher expressed her ambition, mentioning an anecdote with Barbra Streisand, and highlighting the intensity of her performances.
The star also fondly remembered her mother, Georgia Holt, an actor, singer, and former model. Cher shared the bond they shared in a 2013 documentary, “Dear Mom, Love Cher.” Cher’s illustrious career, which began with Sonny & Cher in the 1960s, has set her as one of the top female artists globally.
She also voiced her admiration for contemporary artists like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, believing she might’ve played a role in shaping their journeys, mentioning: “There’s a lot of us old women that were just kind of balls-to-the-wall.”
