Music icon Celine Dion is courageously battling a rare disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome, leading her to step back from the spotlight. Although the superstar remained tight-lipped after her diagnosis in December 2022, a recent exclusive interview with her sister Claudette shed light on Celine’s journey.
Claudette opened up about her sister’s relentless pursuit of treatments, revealing, “Celine traveled to Denver multiple times, banking on renowned researchers there. We’re all holding onto hope. Every prayer and positive message means the world to us.”
Addressing the overwhelming support from fans, she added, “Celine draws strength from the immense love pouring in. She’s spirited and optimistic, always saying, ‘We will overcome this. I’m following every advice, every step, because I can’t wait to be back.”
Claudette told Le Journal de Montreal, Debunking recent tabloid rumors, Claudette clarified that Celine isn’t wheelchair-bound and doesn’t have cancer. Meanwhile, the legendary singer has been focusing on her health at her lavish Las Vegas home alongside her three sons. In a heartwarming gesture, Celine’s other sister, Linda, has moved in, assisting in her care.
“I honestly think that she mostly needs to rest. She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and top of her game. At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It’s important to listen to it.”
Despite her health challenges, Celine hasn’t distanced herself entirely from music. Fans were thrilled when she contributed songs to the romantic comedy “Love Again”. However, due to the symptoms of her disorder, Celine had to make the painful decision to cancel her singing gigs. The condition, more prevalent in women, can hinder mobility, making everyday tasks challenging.
