Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Accused of Trying to Steal Kate Middleton’s Spotlight with Netflix Trailer Release
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being accused of attempting to overshadow Kate Middleton with counter-campaigns, following the release of their new Netflix series trailer. The trailer dropped just hours after the Princess of Wales announced that she had completed chemotherapy, sparking speculation that the Sussexes were trying to divert attention.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield weighed in on the situation during an interview with GB News, acknowledging the growing perception that Harry and Meghan often engage in “oneupmanship.” Schofield remarked, “I understand why a lot of people do feel that way because we have seen Harry and Meghan’s oneupmanship in the past, like when the Princess of Wales announced she’d attend Trooping the Colour, and one of Meghan’s friends uploaded her dog biscuits on social media.”
She continued, “There are definite examples where it feels like Harry and Meghan are trying to steal the spotlight. It’s unfortunate, especially when this is such a beautiful video.” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been distancing themselves from the Royal Family since their departure in 2020.
Following their exit, the couple accused the Royal Family of racism and aired their grievances publicly. Now living in California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry and Meghan have pursued various media ventures, including their Netflix series. The timing of their latest project’s promotion, coinciding with Kate’s announcement, has added fuel to the ongoing narrative of tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family.
