“Arbiter of Masculinity Jesse Watters”: Fox News Host Criticizes Men Who Support Kamala Harris
Fox News host Jesse Watters expressed outrage during a segment of “The Five” on Tuesday, arguing that men who vote for Vice President Kamala Harris should “turn in their man cards.” Watters’ comments came in response to Harris’ highly successful “White Dudes for Harris” livestream earlier this week, which raised millions of dollars from hundreds of thousands of donors.
“Now, I don’t see why any man would vote Democrat,” said Watters, who just last week faced criticism for suggesting Harris didn’t earn her position. “It’s not the party of virtue, security, it’s not the party of strength, it’s definitely not the party of family. And to be a man, and then vote for a woman, just because she’s a woman, is either childish, that person has Mommy issues, or they’re just trying to be accepted by other women. And I heard the scientists say the other day, that when a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman.”
Watters’ remarks quickly sparked reactions on social media. “Uh oh, fellas. Arbiter of Masculinity Jesse Watters has ruled we cannot vote for Democrats. This is quite the dilemma,” tweeted USA Today opinion columnist Rex Huppke. “Because not all men are insecure in their manhood and masculinity,” responded @grace_hackney, highlighting a counterpoint to Watters’ argument.
National security attorney Bradley Moss chimed in, asking, “Are conservative men OK?” Podcaster JoJoFromJerz referenced a bizarre story Watters has shared about how he seduced his current wife, writing, “I don’t see why a man would have to let the air out of the tires of a young woman who works for him in order to force her to need a ride home from him so he could hit on her and eventually leave his wife and kids for her.”
Twitter user @franklinisbored remarked, “Jesse Watters is still living in the 1400s.” “This guy is a certified weirdo,” commented @nycjaneyvee. Reflecting on Watters’ controversial past, @JohnnyMcNulty wrote, “Think of how far this guy has fallen since conducting racist interviews in Chinatown. Not a whole lot, tbh. He always sucked.”
Watters’ criticism of Harris and her supporters underscores the polarized nature of current political discourse. His comments, while incendiary, have only served to further galvanize both his detractors and his supporters, illustrating the deep divides in contemporary American politics.
