Sam Asghari ‘forced’ Britney Spears to follow a conservatorship-style medication plan
Reports suggest that disagreements over Britney Spears’ decision to avoid anxiety medication led to tensions in her marriage with Sam Asghari.
An insider revealed to The US Sun that Asghari was keen for Spears to continue a structured anti-anxiety and depression medication regime, akin to the one she was under during her controversial 13-year conservatorship.
“Despite what Britney shared in court or with fans, she requires a consistent medication plan for stability,” the source stated.
Upon gaining her freedom from the conservatorship, Spears tried to minimize her dependence on medication. However, this allegedly resulted in her behavior becoming increasingly unpredictable.
The insider shared, “Over the past year, she’s shown signs of being erratic, and at times, even dangerous.”
Asghari supposedly advised Spears to engage in therapy, suggesting she find a new psychotherapist to help her navigate her thoughts and emotions. He also emphasized the benefits of returning to a medication regime.
Yet, Spears’ past conservatorship trauma has left her wary of medications. The source said, “Their discussions on this topic often became heated. Britney felt he was trying to control her, drawing parallels with her father’s behavior.”
Despite Asghari’s well-intended concerns, their disagreements eventually strained their relationship.
