Chris Christie Has A Good Theory About Why Donald Trump Cancelled The Press Conference He Claimed Would Bring Him ‘Complete EXONERATION’
Donald Trump would prefer spending the next year and change solely hosting rallies for his potential third presidential bid. However, legal entanglements have taken precedence, given his four criminal indictments, one of which pertains to alleged interference in Georgia’s 2020 election.
He had once hinted at a potentially eccentric press conference to present what he claimed was undeniable proof of his innocence, only to abruptly cancel it. A friend of Trump, Chris Christie, offered a compelling theory as to why.
Chris Christie, once an ally of Trump but now one of his most outspoken critics, appeared on CNN and observed a rare occurrence: Trump actually heeded his lawyers’ advice. Christie pointed out that this unusual compliance likely stemmed from Trump’s fear of facing incarceration, feeling that he is dangerously close to the prospect of being behind bars.
In a recent statement on Truth Social, Trump hinted that he could vindicate himself without resorting to a conventional courtroom trial, asserting, “Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others – There will be a complete EXONERATION!” He contended that authorities had not pursued those he believed rigged the election but had targeted those who sought to uncover the alleged wrongdoing.
Trump’s latest legal team was reportedly displeased with his statement, as it had the potential to complicate their efforts and worsen his legal predicament.
Although they couldn’t prevent Trump from engaging in witness tampering in the past, it seems they succeeded in instilling enough apprehension to dissuade him from staging a press conference that might have resembled Mike Lindell’s controversial appearances. Consequently, Trump’s lawyers can now take a respite, at least until the next instance where their client inadvertently undermines their efforts. (Via HuffPost)
