Congressman Ronny Jackson’s Heated Rodeo Encounter Over Distressed Teen Caught on Cam
A new video reveals Congressman Ronny Jackson’s altercation with authorities at a rodeo last month. The footage shows Jackson getting thrown to the ground and later using strong words toward a Texas soldier, calling him a “fucking idiot.”
Jackson’s clash with the officers stemmed from his attempt to assist a teenage girl experiencing a medical emergency. The Congressman, who previously served as a doctor for Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, appeared frustrated in the video shared by the Texas Tribune, especially after being handcuffed face down.
During the encounter, Jackson’s frustration is evident. As captured on a bodycam from the Department of Public Safety, he is heard telling a police officer, “You like a full cock! You’d better recalculate, mother – uh!” He even hinted at involving Gov. Greg Abbott, stating his intention to call and discuss the incident because he found it “bloody ridiculous.”
According to reports, authorities informed Jackson that several individuals had requested him to move aside so emergency services could attend to the teenager’s medical situation. The officer is heard saying, “I asked you to come back, and you didn’t come back.” Jackson argued that he was only trying to assist and felt he wasn’t properly directed to leave the scene.
Jackson later took to X (previously known as Twitter) to share his views on the incident. While he expressed regret over his choice of words, he remained firm on his decision to help. He asserted that he’d intervene again if faced with a similar life-threatening scenario, emphasizing that he wouldn’t apologize for that.
In the aftermath of the dispute, Jackson reportedly had a phone conversation with Carson Sheriff Tam Terry, suggesting that the officers involved in his detention be reprimanded. The conversation turned tense, with threats of political consequences hinted at in the next election.
Chris and Jodi Jordan, who were present at the scene, shared their perspective with the Associated Press, voicing their confusion and unease about the authorities’ actions.
It’s worth noting that Jackson’s office clarified to the Daily Beast that once his identity and intentions were understood, he was promptly released. Jackson, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, first took office in 2020.
