Hunter Biden Brought Then-VP Father Into Foreign Business Calls – US House Oversight Panel
The U.S House Oversight Committee stated on Monday that Hunter Biden, son of then-US Vice President Joe Biden, involved his father in business conversations with international associates on multiple occasions. The revelation is based on media reports that anticipate forthcoming testimony from Hunter Biden’s business partner, Devon Archer, regarding Biden’s international business dealings.
The committee stated, “Hunter included his father, who was then the Vice President, in discussions with his foreign business partners at least on a dozen occasions via speakerphone.”
The committee’s investigation focuses on possible unlawful activities by the Biden family, including an alleged foreign bribery plot connected to executives from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. An American newspaper report suggests that during a 2015 business meeting in Dubai, two Burisma executives requested Hunter Biden to involve his father in the discussion, which he did via speakerphone.
Last Thursday, U.S Senator Chuck Grassley and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer released a part-redacted FBI record outlining allegations of a foreign bribery scheme implicating the Biden family and Burisma. The confidential source claims that the Bidens received $5 million each to facilitate the termination of a corruption investigation into Burisma by then-Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin. Shokin was later dismissed due to pressure from the Obama administration.
“We look forward to speaking with Devon Archer about this developing story,” the committee added.
The record also indicates that the Burisma executives were allegedly forced into the payments to the Bidens and hold evidence of the transaction. Chairman Comer concluded that the FBI document aligns with other proof obtained by the House Oversight Committee.
