Andy Cohen Reveals Failed Attempt at “The Real House Husbands” Show, Citing Men’s Boringness
Since the premiere of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” in 2006, numerous spin-offs featuring glamorous groups of women have graced our screens. However, Andy Cohen recently disclosed an intriguing detail about a Real Housewives-inspired show centered around a group of men.
During a stop on his book tour for “The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up,” in San Francisco, Andy shared that men were once cast for a House Husbands show. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out due to a crucial reason. “Here’s the thing: Men are very boring,” explained Andy, as reported by SFGate. “Early on, we cast The House Husbands of Orange County, and it was a snooze.”
While The Real House Husbands concept didn’t gain traction, The Real Housewives franchise has undeniably flourished. Currently, there are ten Real Housewives shows on the air, featuring cities like Atlanta, Orange County, New York City, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Potomac, Salt Lake City, Miami, and Dubai.
Despite fans often speculating about potential new cities joining the Real Housewives lineup, Andy dispelled the rumors during an episode of his SiriusXM show, “Andy Cohen Live,” in April 2023. “I mean, I think we’re good,” stated Andy, host of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” “We’re not developing any.”
During his book tour stop in San Francisco, he reiterated this sentiment, saying, “And I would say right now, I kinda feel like we’re good. We have 10 franchises.”
