Zayn Malik reveals why he canceled the Newcastle concert at the last minute: “My Voice Just Isn’t There at All Tonight”
Zayn Malik has finally addressed the last-minute cancellation of his Newcastle concert, offering an emotional apology to fans on Instagram. The 31-year-old singer explained that he was forced to cancel his performance due to a vocal condition, leaving him unable to go on stage.
In a heartfelt message posted on his Instagram Stories, Zayn wrote, “I’m so sorry to do this, but my voice just isn’t there at all tonight, and without it, there’s no show. I’m truly sorry to let you down, especially at such short notice…”
He further revealed the challenges he faced leading up to the cancellation, stating, “I held onto hope until the very last moment,” in the hope that his vocal condition would improve in time for the show. Despite his best efforts, Zayn ultimately made the difficult decision to call off the concert.
“I’m hopeful with some rest tonight I’ll be back on stage tomorrow,” the former One Direction member added, assuring fans that he was doing everything he could to recover quickly. Zayn closed his message with a sincere note to his Newcastle fans: “My deepest apologies, Newcastle love you all xx.”
Zayn was set to perform at the O2 City Hall in Newcastle on December 3 as part of his Stairway to the Sky UK tour. Fans were left disappointed by the last-minute cancellation, but Zayn’s apology showed his genuine regret for missing the performance.
While Zayn’s vocal health has been a concern in the past, his dedication to his fans was clear in his message. With rest and recovery, the singer is hopeful he can continue his tour as planned.
