Hunter Biden’s Legal Team Warns of Retribution Amid Trump’s Return to Power

Hunter Biden’s legal team issued a 52-page report over the weekend warning of potential retribution against President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, as Donald Trump prepares to assume office again. Released ahead of President Biden’s federal pardon for Hunter on Sunday night, the report described the threats against him as “real” and the result of a politically motivated pursuit spanning years.
“This is a seven-year saga propelled by an unrelenting political desire to use a son to hurt his father,” said Abbe Lowell, one of Hunter Biden’s attorneys, in a statement included in the report.
The document, obtained by The Washington Examiner, detailed the timeline of criminal prosecutions against Hunter Biden, culminating in convictions for tax and gun-related charges. It emphasized the dangers posed by a shift in power to Trump, who has been outspoken about targeting his political adversaries.
“It is a wild and terrifying story that serves as a stark warning of what is to come,” Lowell continued. “Some of the same Republicans who targeted Hunter prepare to resume power and have stated their intention to use the government’s vast power to pursue their perceived enemies.”
The report criticized what it described as a flawed justice system, alleging political corruption and unequal treatment. It argued that Hunter Biden faced harsher charges than ordinary citizens would for similar offenses, especially given his struggles with addiction during the time of the alleged crimes.
Hunter Biden was convicted of nine tax offenses earlier this year for failing to pay $1.4 million in federal taxes from 2016 to 2019. He also faced federal gun charges related to purchasing a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver while allegedly lying about his drug addiction on federal forms.
The narrative grew more sensational with testimony about Hunter’s drug use. Kathleen Buhle, Hunter’s ex-wife, testified about discovering drug paraphernalia in his car. Zoe Kestan, another former girlfriend, alleged that Hunter smoked crack the month before buying the revolver in question.
Despite the defense’s argument that there was no definitive proof Hunter knowingly violated the law, the jury swiftly convicted him. The report concluded with a stark warning of intensified legal and political pressures as Trump’s presidency looms, highlighting what it called a failure of the justice system to protect against politically motivated abuses.
