The Louis Erard Regulator x atelier oi Limited Edition Watch
Louis Erard’s most recent creation is a limited-edition regulator watch created in collaboration with atelier oi, a multiple-awards-winning atelier based in La Neuveville, Switzerland, that has been working in the fields of architecture, interior architecture, product design, and scenography for the past 30 years with a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach to creativity.
The fundamental concept for the new Le Régulateur Louis Erard x atelier oi was to create a dial that radiates from the centre outwards. The result is a surface carved with asymmetrical rays that produce a beautiful play of reflections and contrasts, reminiscent of a sundial.
The lines define the space, while the three blue hands (hours, minutes, and seconds) from which the rays originate add the dimension of time. Logos do not detract from the composition’s overall harmony.
Around the edge of the dial, 60 planned lines designate the minutes, with a more noticeable line every five minutes.
It is housed in a 42 mm x 12.25 mm stainless steel case that guarantees water resistance up to a pressure of 5 bars (50 metres / 165 feet). This new interpretation of the regulator watch is powered by the automatic Sellita SW266-1 calibre, which is displayed through a transparent sapphire crystal porthole.
It has a power reserve of 38 hours and beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The Louis Erard symbol is engraved on the open-worked oscillating weight of this élaboré grade movement.
The case back is engraved with “atelier oï x Louis Erard Limited Edition 1 of 178”.
The watch is paired with a polished stainless steel pin buckle and “Covey” grey calf nubuck leather with tone-on-tone stitching.
Le Régulateur Louis Erard x atelier oï ref. 85237AA53 is a limited edition of 178 pieces with a retail price of $3769.
