Former Congressman Pete Deutsch (D-Fla.) has made a bold endorsement, announcing his support for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, describing it as an “extraordinarily clear choice” and stating he is “100% comfortable” with his decision. Deutsch, who has deep ties to Israel, emphasized his concerns about global peace and security as central to his decision.

“I’m feeling very comfortable today publicly announcing that I’m endorsing Donald Trump to be reelected as president and I’m planning on voting for him on Nov. 5,” Deutsch said during a press call Monday. The announcement coincided with the first anniversary of the October 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel, an event he referenced as a pivotal moment influencing his decision.

“For me, the driving force to make this decision is what I believe is the most important factor in being president… which is really world peace,” Deutsch explained. He expressed confidence that Trump is best equipped to navigate the complex international landscape and bring stability to troubled regions.

Having represented a southern Florida district in Congress from 1993 to 2005, Deutsch’s support for Trump came during a call organized by the Trump-Vance campaign. He criticized the current administration, asserting that the Biden-Harris leadership “makes the world a dramatically less safe place,” according to Townhall. While he highlighted his support for Israel and the Middle East as significant factors, he also stressed that his endorsement was “about the homeland” and America’s overall safety.

Deutsch made it clear that he believes Trump’s approach to international diplomacy is crucial for the future of the country. “For what I view as the most important job of the president of the United States, which is trying to retain peace in the world, there is an extraordinarily clear choice that I think America hopefully will come to the same conclusion that I have, that President Trump should become the next president of the United States.”

Notably, Deutsch’s congressional district once included a large Jewish constituency, as reported by Jewish Insider. The publication also highlighted that Deutsch currently splits his time between Israel and Florida, underscoring his personal and political investment in U.S.-Israel relations.

Deutsch’s endorsement adds a new layer to Trump’s campaign, showcasing how concerns over international stability and security continue to shape political alliances as the election approaches.
